Apple Inc. has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Danish renewables firm European Energy A/S to source clean electricity from the 108-MWp Lancaster Solar Project in Victoria, Australia. The deal reinforces Apple’s sustainability commitments and supports its goal of enabling over one million MWh of new renewable generation annually in Australia by 2030.
The Lancaster Solar Farm, located about nine kilometres east of Kyabram, spans 172 hectares (425 acres) and will produce approximately 216 GWh of green power per year once operational in 2026. Construction is already underway. The project was originally developed by Sweden’s OX2 AB and later acquired by European Energy in September 2024.
European Energy views Australia as a priority growth market, with a robust pipeline of wind, solar, and energy storage projects under development. The Apple contract adds to the company’s growing portfolio of corporate renewable energy partnerships, showcasing how major tech players are driving demand for clean power through long-term investment and procurement strategies.
